Location
The south-facing bay Finikounda is about six miles wide and is divided into three sections of the beach. On the long sandy beach west of the town
(gr. Anemomilos, engl. windmill) you will find ideal surfing and sailing conditions, as well as our water sport station.

location

Water
The clean andclear water (Blue Flag) is standing-deep in the first few meters and then drops slowly. The usual cross-offshore wind brings us a perfect
calm water during the summer months, three islands are covering the bay and providing protection from strong wave at other wind directions.

Wind
Our thermal wind is usually cross-onshore in the morning.
At noon the wind turns to the side and freshens substantially (3 -. 4 Bft); in the late afternoon he begins to slowly drop again.
An average of three to four days per week, the wind turnsfrom sideshore to cross-offshore at noon and reaches up to 5-7 Bft.
This support through regional winds is most common in June and July.

Recommondation
Finikounda is an ideal family spot, since the typical wind days helps both beginners and advanced students, but also pro's to find their
matching conditions. Finikounda, although known for it's good wind conditions, is not a typical high-wind spot!

PS:
We just would like to give a hint that there is a spot with probably the highest wave of the Mediterranean Sea nearby.
If the weather conditions are matching we offer guided tours of these waves that come up to 4m.
